Alexa & Scott get hitched @ Shakespeare’s Restaurant & Pub Wedding
Bitter sweet, my last wedding of 2019 and it was the first Saturday after Christmas! It’s nice to take a break because I go into winter hibernation/learning mode to get better for the next wedding season! I had a month break and started to already take some online classes to improve for next year’s wedding season. What was cool is that I got to try them out at this wedding! My new photography technique is using colored light to take your ring shots (you will see a purple light being used, it is called a gel). So for future weddings I will be asking you what is your favorite color or the color of your wedding is and we can tie my new colored gels with your theme! Anyways it was a lot of fun to use my new gear at this wedding and Alexa was so chill about everything she didn’t mind either! Plus she got some pretty cool photos too!
Just a little back story. Alexa and her family are the life-long family friends of my husbands mom and dad and I had the pleasure of meeting her and her family when I started dating my husband at their camp in Erie. It was my pleasure to photograph Alexa and Scott’s wedding! They had a very elegant and classy wedding and kept it intimate with about 60 close friends and family. It was so nice to see familiar faces at a smaller wedding and we even had the opportunity to take family and group photos during the evening dancing; which I think many of Alexa’s and Scott’s family and friends enjoyed! Some even said they never had a family photo taken. So it totally warmed my heart that I was able to do that for them and make them happy. Scott and Alexa now live in Virginia so we talked back and forth over the phone and planned her wedding timeline out and I asked her what was important to her. She let me know that family is really important and her dad’s health wasn’t great. So I made sure to get several photos of her dad and her together and with family pictures too. Instead of doing a traditional garter toss, they did an anniversary dance. At the end Alexa and Scott gave a bouquet and garter to... my in-laws! Doug and Donna have been married for 45 years and it was also their wedding anniversary too! I just couldn’t believe how kind and thoughtful the bride and groom were to their guests and they really made everyone feel special. People, this is what a celebration of love is about. It’s surrounding yourself with loving, caring people. Alexa and Scott, I wish you MANY years of love, laughter and happiness. Which after listening to your ceremony and watching you both interact all night, I will go ahead and say, you are going to have a fun and VERY happy marriage. Congratulations to both of you!
I hope you will enjoy the photos, as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Anniversary Dance
Alexa and Scott asked all the married couples to join them on the dance floor. Scott Miser, the dj asked couples to leave the dance floor if they were married less than 2 hours, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years... 44 years and then all but one couple were left, Doug and Donna Eppinger (my in-laws)! They were very surprised to say the least, I was very surprised that Donna got Doug to dance but then there was one more surprise. Doug had to put the garter on Donna’s leg! I didn’t know if I should take photos or if I would get yelled at a later family dinner. I risked it and took the photos, they could come in handy someday! Donna was a good sport and Doug was appropriate, thank goodness because I couldn’t get that erased from my brain if it wasn’t... haha!
Congratulations Doug & Donna!
