Hi Everyone!
Since we have been in quarantine for a little while now I wanted to reach out and connect with all of you! I haven’t been booking sessions because I hate to book and reschedule, I’d rather just wait and do it once. So I appologize I have been a little quiet on Facebook and my website lately! Since the quarantine, I have taken time to order more photography gear and practice at home, which has been fun! I purchased a black backdrop and wanted to practice headshots with my good friend Sam and my niece Robin helped me out! I will post a few photos for you below! I learned a lot and was able to be pretty creative! So I am really looking forward to using these new tools for future photo sessions. I think what I have missed lately is just being able to be creative and let my mind play a bit. So many times when I have a wedding or a paid gig, I get the shots I know I can get and with the pressure you don’t always have time to just play around. So I can’t say I have been miserable at home, the break has felt AMAZING!
On Easter morning I just went and photographed nature around our 25 acre farm with my micro lens. That was pretty cool and also made me have more awareness of the beauty that happens everyday, around us, and we are all so busy to even notice. I was sad that our family wasn’t able to have Easter lunch like we normally do but it was for the safety of our family. My dad was in ICU right before the virus outbreak, so we definitely want to keep him safe and healthy!
So some takeaways so far during Covid19 for me have been to:
1. Slow down, enjoy the present!
2. When I do go back to work I will set stronger guidelines for myself as far as not over packing my schedule and have more time with my husband at HOME.
3. Take time for myself and unplug from the computer, phone, tv and just go outside and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy the photos! Feel free to comment what you have learned about yourself during quarantine below in the comments!
Take care!
Elaina
